“Robert Mitchum That Man” en el 1º aniversario de Calamity
February 28th, 2008 admin Posted in música |
Calamity-Jane.net en su primer aniversario con los cambios en el diseño de su tema y post o colaboración sobre Robert Mitchum, en la que también tengo algo que ver.
——

Calypso Is Like So (1957, Capitol), grabado a la vuelta de sus estancias en el Caribe. Una portada vale más que mil palabras.
——

Robert Mitchum That Man (1967, Monument), reeditado y remasterizado en 1995.
From a logical point of view
If you want to be happy living a king’s life
never make a pretty woman your wife
If you want to be happy living a king’s life
never make a pretty woman your wife
Now all you have to do is just what I say
and then you may be jolly, merry and gayTherefore, from a logical point of view
better marry a woman uglier than you
(chorus)
From a logical point of view
always marry a woman uglier than youA pretty woman make a husband look small
and very often causes dawnfall
Soon as she marries then and there she starts
to do the things that will break your heart
And when you thing that she is belonging to you
she is calling somebody else to doMan, from a logical point of view
better marry a woman uglier than you
(chorus)
From a logical point of view
always marry a woman uglier than youBut if you make an ugly woman your wife
you can be sure you will be happy in all your life
She will never do things in a funny way
to allow the neighbour have things to say
She wouldn’t disregard the husband at all
by exhibiting herself too bitter and coldMan, from a logical point of view
better marry a woman uglier than you
(chorus)
From a logical point of view
always marry a woman uglier than youAn ugly woman give your meals on time
and try to make you comfortable in mind
At times when you lie sick in your cosy bed
she will both caress you and scratch your head
And not a minute in the night will she leave you alone
it seems you want to melt the cold from your boneMan, from a logical point of view
better marry a woman uglier than you
(chorus)
From a logical point of view
always marry a woman uglier than youIf a man that’s not your friend
say that you have no taste
marry an ugly woman above disgrace
one who is cute, looking barbarous and rough
the skin like alligator, bumpy and tough
pigeon-hole, bull-leg, across in her eye
she got two lips that look like a big bow tieBoy, from a logical point of view
better marry a woman uglier than you
(chorus)
From a logical point of view
always marry a woman uglier than you
From a logical point of view
always marry a woman uglier than you
Tic, Tic, Tic (The Lost Watch)
What a confusion
A fellow lost his watch in the railroad station
What a confusion
A fellow lost his watch in the railroad station
A sagga girl named Dimelda was suspected of being a burglar
She had no purse, no pocket in her clothes
But where she hid the watch only goodness knows
And they were hearing(Chorus)
Tic, tic, tic, everybody looking
Tic, tic, tic, seeing how they’re searching
Tic, tic, tic, that’s all they’re hearing
But they couldn’t find out where the watch was hidingUnder suspicion, they took her down to the police station
And sent for the matron
Who examined all the clothes that she had on
The matron examined with care
She even make her pull down her long hair
She searched and she could’nt search no more
But the watch was ticking louder than before
And they’re hearing(Chorus)
The matron hit on an idea that she could find the watch around somewhere
She said she had an incentive
She could find the watch if given privilegeTo divest Dimelda entirely
And search her as if she was crazy
The search was such, so they decide
That the matron turn Dimelda’s inside outside
I’m hearing(Chorus)
Confusion now in the station
They made the searching by inspiration
The watch ticking louder and louder
And the matron moving up closer
The matron is convinced, there’s no doubt
She push her hand up inside Dimelda’s mouth
And do you know her idea came true
When she found the watch it was ten to two(Chorus)
Sunny
Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain.
Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain.
The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here,
My Sunny one shines so sincere.
Sunny one so true, I love you.Sunny, thank you for the sunshine bouquet.
Sunny, thank you for the love you brought my way.
You gave to me your all and all.
Now I feel ten feet tall.
Sunny one so true, I love you.Sunny, thank you for the truth you let me see.
Sunny, thank you for the facts from A to C.
My life was torn like a wind-blown sand,
And the rock was formed when you held my hand.
Sunny one so true, I love you.Sunny, thank you for the smile upon your face.
Sunny, thank you for the gleam that shows its grace.
You’re my spark of nature’s fire,
You’re my sweet complete desire.
Sunny one so true, I love you.Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain…
